In the N-fertilizer experiment carried out in the years 1996-1999 it was established that the highest yields of ‘Sawa’ dessert fruits were obtained when leaf nitrogen concentration was within the range 1.81-1.9% d.m. The optimal fruit mass ranged from 190 to 199 g. The nitrogen rates applied (50, 100, or 100 kg ha-1 split in two doses) did not increase nitrate content in fruits or worsen fruit biochemical composition and storage parameters.
