The subject of the studies conducted in the years 1993-1995 were observations on the occurrence and dynamics of the numbers of Maculolachnus submacula (Walk.). The studies were conducted on the city's green area at two sites: A (street site), B (park site). It was found that aphids settled in greater numbers on the rose bushes growing at site A; in 1995 its numbers in areas A and B were comparable. The effect of the weather on the numbers and dynamics of the population of this aphid in relation to the place of its feeding was smaller than that of other aphid species inhabiting these plants. The injuries caused by this aphid did not significantly reduce the ornamental value of the rose bushes.
