The tested fungi showed an inhibiting activity against Pezicula alba. Colonization of wounds on apple shoots by the tested microorganisms before P. alba infection reduced the damage caused by this pathogen. The introduction of microorganisms into wounds after P. alba infection induced the formation of smaller necrotic areas on affected shoots. The introduction of appropriate mixtures of the tested fungi can increase their effectiveness in protecting of wounds on apple shoots against P. alba infection.
