In vitro micrografting of 0.2 to 0.3 mm long shoot tips of Khasi mandarin orange on 2 weeks old etiolated seedlings of various citrus species achieves 67% succesful grafts. Pretreatment of scions with 10 μg l-1 of 2.4 D greatly increased the success rate. Histological studies using the electron microscope show graft union and vascular connection between root stock and scion. Grafts acclimatized in culture jars were transferred to soil and successfully established.
