In a four-year field experiment (1992-1995) the plants of seven local bolting ecotypes of winter garlic were assessed. The assessments covered selected morphological and quality properties of the ecotypes. Cloves of the garlic ecotypes under study were planted in mid-October at a spacing of 10×10 cm, and depth of 5-6 cm. After the harvest in the second half of July, the selected properties of the plants were assessed. Significant differences were observed among all the plant properties characterized. The highest total yield of bulbs was obtained by the plants of ecotype R (34.3 t ha-1).
