Regeneration of three plum cultivars - Čačanska Rodna, Stanley and Čačanska Najbolia - from in vitro leaf explants was investigated on media with various content of mineral compounds, TDZ and NAA, and under different light conditions. The activity of silver nitrate was studied in detail in the cultivar Čačanska Rodna. The obtained results show that particular cultivars have very different requirements for regeneration with regard both for the light conditions and the composition of media. The process of regeneration was the most effective on the MS medium containing a half-strength concentration of macro nutrients with the addition of 0.2 mg/l NAA + 1.65 mg/TDZ. Addition of silver nitrate stimulated regeneration only at comparatively low concentrations.
