Ethylene forming enzyme (EFE) activity in various parts of the daffodil (Narcissus pseudonarcissus) flower during its development and senescence

Ethylene forming enzyme (EFE) activity was determined in various flower parts isolated from excised daffodil flowers at different stages of development and senescence. It proved to be high in all the examined parts even at the bud stage reaching its maximum value before symptoms of senescence appeared. Pollination of the flower did not affect the EFE activity.
