The effect of intercropping late cabbage with white clover and French bean on the abundance of some pests and beneficial insects was studied in field experiment in 1985-1990. The number of carabids was increased by 32.4% when the cabbage was grown with white clover. Aphids as well as cabbage moth populations were reduced drastically on cabbage intercropped with clover and bean in comparison with monoculture.
