Folia Horticulturae, published by the Polish Society for Horticultural Science, contains papers covering theoretical and practical aspects of horticultural sciences. Two issues containing original scientific papers and short communications are published each year. The journal is published in English with additional abstracts in Polish. Manuscripts received are reviewed by two referees.

Prof. Tadeusz Wojtaszek, the founder of the Polish Society for Horticultural Science, was the first editor of the journal (1989-1990). He was followed, for many years, by Prof. Jan Myczkowski (1991-1999). In the years 1999-2004 Prof. Barbara Michalik was the Editor-in-Chief. Dr. Jan Skrzyński is the present editor of Folia Horticulturae.

Folia Horticulturae is indexed in EBSCO, Horticultural Abstracts, CAB Direct®, CABI Full Text Database, Ulrich's Periodicals DirectoryTM, AGRIS FAO, IBIDS National Agricultural Library USDA. For 2007 Folia Horticulturae received ICV = 5.26 according to Index Copernicus Publishers Panel.
